UNIVERSEH

Since 2021, the Department of Foreign Languages SJO AGH has been involved in project and project-related activities promoting multilingualism and intercultural competence among the communities (students, doctoral students and employees) of the UNIVERSEH alliance partners.
UNIVERSEH is one of the European Universities established in 2020. For more information:

In September 2021, we hosted the Space European Day of Languages with the AGH Department of Foreign Languages. During the event participants had the opportunity to listen to lectures, expand their knowledge in the field of languages taught at our department as well as space terminology, and test their skills doing riveting quizzes prepared by the SJO AGH team. In September 2023 we hosted the event for the second time. We invited students to join a Univer-city game, write an essay and do some quizzes.
In September 2022 and September 2023, together with partners from UNIVERSEH, we organized the international European Day of Languages.
We regularly invite students to our language cafes. Language Cafés are places where students and PhD students of UNIVERSEH partner universities can practise their language skills in a friendly environment. These meetings are also an excellent opportunity to meet new people, and learn new languages and cultures.
In July 2022, we organized a two-day Cosmically Multilingual language workshop for children from a Ukrainian school in Krakow.
We conducted an intensive Polish language course for the participants of the UNIVERSEH Summer School of Space Resources and Mining in May 2022.
Participants of the Summer School participated in workshop called A Dictionary of Space Concepts and the Pleasures of Intercultural Communication and created entries which were included in the UNIVERSEH Dictionary of Space Concepts.
In cooperation with Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf, we created an innovative language course English C-1: Terms and Concepts of Space. Our university students sign up for the course as part of the AGH Database of Electives, in the block of International Courses. The first edition of the course took place in the winter semester of 2022/2023. We invite you to take part in the next ones!
All our existing and recurring tasks will continue. We also have plans for the future and we will keep you informed! You will also find up-to-date information and invitations to events at the Department of Foreign Languages FB.
